What is coconut sugar?
The crystallized sap from the flower of the coconut palm. It’s most similar in color and flavor to brown sugar.
Why is coconut sugar better than white table sugar?
The manufacturing process. White table sugar is heavily refined with chemicals added to it during manufacturing. Coconut sugar goes through a natural manufacturing process.
What is the natural process of coconut sugar?
- A cut is made on the flower of the coconut palm and the liquid sap is collected into containers (think maple syrup).
- The sap is placed under heat until most of the water evaporates.
- The final product is crystallized coconut sugar.
How do I use coconut sugar?
You can use small amounts in baking, substituting for brown sugar works great.
What kind of coconut sugar should I buy?

If you’re going to use coconut sugar, use it sparingly. It’s still sugar! It’s “less bad” than regular sugar, but not something you should be eating everyday.
What is raw honey?

Remember, it’s still sugar, so if you’re planning on using a bottle a week then don’t plan on shedding pounds. It’s not a miracle worker!
