What is Greek yogurt?
A thick-textured, creamier yogurt. It’s made from either cow’s or goat’s milk.
How do they make Greek yogurt thicker and creamier?
After heating the milk, adding the bacterial cultures and allowing the milk to gel into regular yogurt, they then take the regular yogurt and strain it with a filter. This removes the liquid whey part of the milk along with some of the lactose sugars, salt and water which are naturally in the yogurt. This leaves you with Greek yogurt.
So is Greek yogurt better for me than regular yogurt?
If you’re looking to build lean muscle and cut down on sugar it is. Greek yogurt has double the amount of protein compared to regular yogurt and contains half the amount of sugar. It’s a great breakfast or snack food that packs a nutritional punch.

Full-fat, plain Greek yogurt. You can always add your own fruit or honey to sweeten it.
