What is coconut flour?

It’s the ground up, dried, inner white flesh of the coconut. It has a coconut scent and is sweet in taste.

Why choose coconut flour over almond or white whole wheat flour?

Two main reasons:

  1. Gluten-free – those with celiac disease and gluten sensitivities can eat it.
  2. It’s a seed – those with nut allergies can tolerate it.

Is coconut flour good for me?

It’s really high in fiber, having almost double the amount found in wheat bran, and is known to help regulate blood sugar due to its low glycemic index.

How do I use coconut flour?

It can be partly substituted for all-purpose flour in baking. It does soak up a lot of water, so you need to add more liquid to accommodate.
